2002 Spirit of Independence Award Honoree
Westchester Disabled on the Move, Inc. a Yonkers based Independent Living Center serving people with disabilities announced today the first recipient of the Spirit of Independence Award will be Assemblyman, Michael J. Spano of the 87th Assembly District. The award will be presented at a reception in the Assemblyman’s honor on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at the Royal Regency Hotel, 165 Tuckahoe Road, Yonkers, 5 pm-7 pm.
In announcing the award, Melvyn Tanzman, Executive Director of the organization said, “Assemblyman Spano has been a strong supporter of legislation that assists people with disabilities. We could find no better person to honor with this award than Mike.”
